Artist Profile
I was born and raised in the California Bay Area, where my passion for art began at a young age. Spending hours drawing as a child, I was greatly inspired by my high school teacher, Mr. Schwab, who encouraged me to explore my artistic interests further. This journey led me to San Jose State University (SJSU), where I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). During my timethere, I explored various disciplines, from airbrush techniques to watercolors, ultimately finding my preferred medium in acrylic paint.
After graduation, I opened Soquel Art, a frame shop located near Santa Cruz, CA. In this role, I collaborated with numerous artists, helping them present their work in the best possible light. Alongside my professional endeavors, I married and became a father of three. For several years, I managed Orchard Supply Hardware, where I nurtured my creative impulses by building recycled wood sculptures and painting in my spare time. Following my retirement, I seized the opportunity to dedicate my life to being a professional artist.
